Liteon dvd key

I have a liteon drive that won't read discs. I replaced the laser and it still won't work. So I was wondering what I need to get the dvd key?

You bought a new laser?

If so, did you remove the anti-static solder blob before installing?

Which error are you presented with?

yes i bought a new and removed the antistatic glob. and the error is the open tray/ it won't read discs

Have you tried a laser you know works (one from a BenQ drive would fit)?

Also, remove that rubber band from the front of the drive and pop it in a cup of boiling water for 60 seconds then replace.

Have you flashed this drive?

I use a CK3, CK3 Probe V3 and a X360 USB Pro for doing phat liteon drives.

Does the disc spin and the laser not move? Could just be the worm motor needs replacing. May by worth manually moving it up to the spindle and seeing if it moves.

its not flashed and everything thing moves and it spins the disc at the speed my other one does. maybe ill put a vid up later
