LITEON 83850 v1 liteon failed mra now wont play games.

i tried to flash my liteon and even with the mra connected jungleflasher kept giving me the incorrect status so i gave up. after soldering everything together pad 101 was missing so i connected the pad 101 track to the alternative track and now the xbox only plays dvds. i have flashed a benQ and still have it as a spare but i would like a way to fix the liteon please help me i just want it back to normal. my drive was updated by the new dashboard.

Depends how bad it is. Post some pics. Why did you use MRA hack? There is no need to use that hack anymore. PMT method is what's used and doesnt involve cutting traces or soldering.

1. If you have your key, get a spare PCB and flash the key to it.

2. Send it someone who can fix it.

3. Send your key to someone and let them flash a spare PCB and send it to you.

I stay in south Africa so I'm probably far from everyone... when I searched how to flash this drive all I could find was that the Mra hack is the correct way to dump the firmware and get a key since all liteon drives have new firmware since the last dashboard update....I don't have the drive key but if their is a way to still get it I will gladly send it to one of you who have a spare PCB as for the photos I will post them tomorrow because. Everyone here is already asleep...but the pad101 is gone. When I touched it withe the soldering iron it just tubes clean off do their is nothing left of it.

Also it is very difficult to find a ck3 or anything similar here I just found a Guy that has one and he wants R250 just to spoof the liteons key to my spare benQ drive :eek2: that's a bit steep.

how do you mean you dont have your drive key.

if it just plays dvds there is a chance you never flashed your key to the drive or the laser might be getting weak

Did you write anything to your PCB or you just tried to read it? If you haven't written the firmware to PCB and so long it is being recognized by the console or Jungle flasher then there is a possibility of retrieving the key from it or even mending the board.

You can post pictures but in my opinion if the console plays DVD's then the PCB is to some extend functional, only remains to be seen if the key is still intact or not.

If you anit got you key then your hope is to follow dat fix n if it dnt den u cn try send 4 repair if not then sorry mate your hopeless now that's what happends too noobs attemping without a proper research n jumpin it too fast anyways good luck hope you fix it and in future read tuts on dis site first before jumpin in

By saying I don't have the key I mean the drive wouldn't go into vendor mode so I just gave up with the flash and couldn't dump the firmware.

Dude that's terrible. Lower your Wyatt, use some flux, and clean up that board. That black sh*t needs to go.

there does seem to be some burnt solder bridging a couple of traces......see if you can get that board nice and clean, then post us another pic (I know, you'll become a pro photographer soon) and then we can see if the board is recoverable

that black stuff is flux and it wont come off how would i remove it?

Rubbing alcohol Cleans nicely
