LITEON DG-16D2S liteon firmware updates and changes?

hello everyone,
can somebody please

1-explain dg-16d2s drives are for slims or phats only?

2-explain what type of lite on drives are there and which drive versions they have before and after the updates 13146 and 13599?

3-do 16d2s drives they get locked after 13599?

4-if i see 93450C as the firmware version on the case,and if I update to 13146 dash I know it will be Liteon DG-16D2S 02510C,but if I update to 13599 will it be LOCKED now?


5-if I have 16d4s drive and a console before 13599,is probe 3 enough to flash it?if I have extract the key before 13599 , would I still require sputnik after updating to 13599?or is there any other way to write the previous dump without using sputnik and unlocking?


by the way i will be using x360usbpro

1. DG16D2S is for phats
2. 74850C, 83850C(v1), 83850C(v2), 93450C, all these drives become 0251 after dash 13146
3. No, DG16D2S are not locked after any update.
4. Change firmware to 0251, but not locked
5. Probe 3 is not need for 16D4S (slims). Sputnik360 is for MXIC chip, other method is the MX probe. There is no other way if not to unlock the spi first before you would be able to write firmware.

that was really nice answers and really cast a light on my questions.

everything is clear to me now.


one last question though,assume I have stock dg-16d4s fw ver.9504 and havent updated to 13599 and I am still 13146,in this case i would be able to read and write the key without any extra peripheral ,but what happens if I want to update to the latest dash,my drive is gonna get locked so I will have to unlock it(MXIC=lucky Winbond=kamikaze : l ),so is there any other way around this?without locking the drive can I update to the latest dash on my dg-16d4s drive if I had flashed it when it wasnt locked?

Your 9504 will become 0272 after 13146 but still not locked. Any dash update after this one it will be locked, regardless whether you are on a stock or CFW
Always make sure though that you revert back to stock first before taking any dash update.
