LITEON 93450 Liteon v9 can't get DVD key

Hi guys, friend brought me a v9 with pretty butchered trace cuts and cant get the key. Do I have to have it to get replacement drive or pcb? He doesn't care about Xbl. Thanks

plain and simple yes you need the key to play games. Period.

If he doesn't care about xbl you could RGH(providing its a glitch able one) the console to get the key if the DVD drive pcb is to trashed. What firmware is on the drive is it 02501c?

If you don't want to shell out money to RGH it, send it to TeaJunkie. He has pulled 2 keys for me. One from a dead LiteOn another from a Dead Hitachi. Let him get they key and then flash it to a new drive or a new PCB.

Shipping from US to the UK id only about $5 if you just send the board.

I could get the key from the motherboard and flash it to a replacement DVD PCB if you were interested. Provided it is a HDMI unit (some Xenon's have Lite-Ons).

You'd have to be VERY unlucky to get a refurb'd Xenon with a 9 series lite-on!
