Liteon vendor mode

Hi I am trying to replace a broken drive.

I have the replacement drive noth drives are Liteon 16D2S
The old drive being 0225 firmware.

I have the CK3i probe and XUSBPRO.

I have ectracted the old key in JF and now am trying to extract the old firmware to put onto the new one.

I am having trouble entering vendor mode. I am following the on screen popups and power cycling the drive.

Sending Vendor Intro to port 0x0000
Status 0x51
Re-sending Vendor Intro:
...................................................

then enentually says device intro failed!

Any ideas on how to solve this

i have tryed power cycling many times but it has not effect.

No chance you have 0225 firmware for an 16D2S Lite-on drive. Do you have a phat or slim drive?

You can't - not without MRA mode. You don't need it either.

Did you get a dummy.bin extracted when you got the key from the old drive? Have you verified the key?

If so, just load as the source firmware, and manually load lite-on phat post 13146 firmware as destination, spoof source to destination then follow the JF guide to erase and write the firmware.

yerh i got a dummy.bin where would i access this 13146 firmware? many thanks

Read the JF tutorial if you've not already done so.

I have loaded my source target from dummy.bin but where does target firmware come from JF asks me to auto load LT PLUS 3.0 which I tried but upon going to erase the drive JF said the firmwares did not match. I need to put the same firmware on as the old drive just with the old key

They won't match as it's a replacement drive.

Do you want LT3.0 on the replacement? If so, go ahead and carry on.
