Little question on hard drive swap and msxbox dash

Hi,
i am not a noob as i have had my xbox chipped for a while now and im quite capable with most xbox things. I upgraded the hdd the same time i modded the xbox and did not backup any of the files. I have a v1.1 xbox and i want the msdash back on my new hard drive. I was wondering if anyone would tell me what i have to do to get it back. I know i would have to do some swapping but would i have to put it in my pc or back in the xbox? would i have to unlock it if im going to put it in the pc or if i just swapped it with the current one, then backed up the stuff thru ftp then swaped them back over and restored them onto the upgraded hdd? would that work. i was wondering just because i am a little confused with locking and unlocking the hdd.

here what you do

PC = unclock original drive (which will require putting it in the xbox)
XBOX = hook it up FTP the files out of it onto the PC. Switch drives. Put files on new drive.

that wasn't so hard now was it?
