I have a customer with a Jasper JTAG console (normal SMC hack, not Aud_clamp) which is now in RROD stage. I just want to know if my logical thinking is right or wrong.. please read below
1. The JTAG console was updated to 15574 but it cannot play FIFA13, RE6 Games on internal HDD. But when that HDD placed on other JTAG console, the game boots perfectly.
2. I thought that maybe some Dashlaunch patches prevent the game from booting.
3. I uninstalled Dashlaunch, and still, the game wont boots
4. Then the console was updated to 16197 using Xebuild GUI, but it is not stable. Frequent shutdowns happened but not instant shutdown (it acted like it was shutdown by pressing the power button-- the screen gradually dimmed then it shut itself down)
5. I removed the HDD, and it still the same, so, I think, HDD is not affecting the frequent shutdown
6. Sometimes it boot but it cant sync the controller and frequent 2X red LED or 4X green LED lit up (it must be because that Normal SMC for JTAG)
7. So I let it cooled down for sometime, and 30 sec after power button pressed..BAM, RROD 0022
8. Then I disassemble the case..and i saw that the console has been reflowed. there are lots of flux debris around GPU, and 4 chips
So, what is the exact problem..is it :
1. LDV (should be 15 seconds) ?
2. Wrong NAND ?
3. GPU error ?
4. etc ?
i think the best answer should be GPU error right? it need another reflow or reball or trash it out...
