i cant find what im looking for
ok im trying to find a good tutorial to mod my 360, and i cant find anything , i need something with pics. if possible im more of a visual learner. i do know i have a lite-on drive, and my 360 was made 07-17-2009, i have tried using the search but every time i click on search i get a msg saying
The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
The script had an error or it did not produce any output. If there was an error, you should be able to see it in the error log.
if anyone could help me out that would be great,
i do know i need to a pci sata card and some dvd+rdl
i have 2 dvd burners in my pc now that are both able to burn dl discs. thanks for any help
and yes i know im a noob at this. this seems to me more complicated then soft modding the wii!

ok i downloaded a pdf of hacking the 360 for noobs i forgot i dl and i forgot where i got this but i know its off this site. how do i know if this is up to date? i dont want to brick my 360 or anything?

if its the pdf i'm thinking of i dont think its been updated for the newer drives, the manufacture date of your xbox suggests its likley a 8 series v1 liteon, if your really unlucky it will be 1 of the first 8 series v2's however with that date its more likley to be a V1, download the jungle flasher tutorial and that will tell you how to flash your drive, the only way to tell what version it is for sure is to open your xbox and look the fw revision on the drive, it will probably be 83850c, if this is the case there is no way of telling weather its a v1 or a v2 untill you try to dump it, the manufacture date on the drive can give a good guideline, if its july 09 or before its a v1, anything after is likley a v2, the v1 really easy and the jungleflasher tutorial will tell you how but the v2 is stightly harder, you shouldnt have to worry about this as i would be 90% sure that you have a v1

where can i get jungle flasher tutorial? i downloaded the new version of it. any links to the tut. would be great being my pc is being a pos and wont let the search function work on this website. im gonna take off for a bit gotta go pick my gf up , when i get back ill take the drive out and find out if its v1 or v2. all i need to buy is

it would make it alot easier to get a connectivity kit, it is possible to use the xbox to power it but its really awquard, especially with the 8 series v1 because you have to power on with the tray half open and you need to repeat this twice, the only way to do it is pull the power cable from the back of the drive as the tray is ejecting then plug it back in and adjust the position of the tray to half open.
