It can't be overheating.... can it?

Ok, so I've got a practically brand new box manufactured in late 09. I haven't really had much to play it until recently and just tonight I go to turn it on, the logo come up and them BAM, two red lights start slapping me in the face. And what's more is that I smell a little bit of ozone.

The damn thing is cold to the touch.
Both fans are working fine.
And it's new.

Anyone have thoughts on this or what I should do? Are the x-clamps even a problem at this point since it's so new?

And no, sending it in to M$ is not really an option.

just take it apart and redo the thermal paste on both heatsinks...
that should fix your problem.... you don't need to do the x-clamp mod.
