Hey guys...been a while. Haven't mod an xbox in a while and would like to mod a slim. I've just seen LT Ultimate doesnt require a firmware dump and just needs the dvd key. However, am I right in saying that in order to extract the dvd key from new liteon or new hitachi's , an element of soldering is required?

I found this statement, please can someone validate it?

• DVD Key retrieval from Lite-On 1175/1532 DG-16D5S on kernel 2.0.14XXX.0 or lower, requires CoolRunner Rev. A/B/C, CR3 Lite, or CR3 Pro (Slim version).

Hey guys,
I'm new and i purchased a slim xbox360 that has the DG16D5S fw 1532. I purchased/have the X360 USB Pro 2 and the x360Key (xK3y). Does anyone know what i have to do? or is there anything else I need to purchase ? and can you provide a link ?

Read the original post. You need a few more Xecuter products for RGH. That drive cannot be hacked. You have to hack the motherboard, buy a replacement PCB for the DVD drive and use the new LTU fw.

But any Liteon DG-16D4S can still have the dvd key extracted without RGH? If so, what probe should we be using to extract the key?

16D4S can be read without any hack. Follow JF tut. But they have to be hacked to unlock for flashing. Again, refer to JF tut.

Okay...so i bought a slim with a 16D5S. I payed someone to get the DVD key for me and will get a LTU replacement board and flash it with the key. I'm looking around for LTU v1.2 (xbinx doesnt seem to be working) and cant seem to find it. I have a version but its coming up as V1.0 in Jungleflasher 0.1.94 (320) (ignore the folder name in the screenshot, i updated it without renaming the folder). Is this normal or do I not have the latest version.

I've also seen this version of LTU in this screenshot as well???

can you tell me what are you trying to do? you have to extract your keys the only way is an rgh and then replace the main pcb board for ltu unlocked pcb board,if you have the keys already and board replaced then you have to press open source firmware go to the folder where the key are and select it,open target firmware is of course as you have on the pics the lt firmware has to be place it

I know what I need to do. I just want someone to confirm if the "Firmware type" in the target firmware should read LTU v1.2 cos mine only shows LTU v1.0 as per the image above.

EDIT :

I thought I knew what i needed to do. I've installed the LTU PCB but I cant get it into vendor mode. It keeps cycling between 0x51 and 0x80.
The jf tutorial says " you will need to Burn a 0800 disk to a DL DVD"....what does that actually mean. I just need a game backup disc?
