Hey guys. I was after a cheap 360, I only want it for ESPN so won't even have to play games. It can be an old one, as long as it works.

OR

I thought if there are any cheap banned xbox 360 consoles I might be interested or if it is jtaged.

Thanks guys!

Yeah I know, it is a bit of a problem living in Australia, there doesn't seem to be too much action with electronics, as well as it is its own continent.:(

Or you could just buy the motherboard and have the seller send you the DVD key via email. So long it's 2kg or less then it will be much cheaper on postage (approx £8-£16). Another solution is surface mail which can take anything up to 8 weeks.

But seriously, no one's selling xbox in Australia?

There are not many modders, the ones which are selling are a huge rip off.

So if the motherboard was just sent over, that means I could watch ESPN on xbox live? If so that would be fantastic. Does the motherboard include the fans, or just plainly the motherboard? I haven't really looked at this so if you guys think it is possible it would be a great help.

tbh shipping the board alone overseas is not a good idea - too easily damaged, and you'd only save a few gramms - most of the weight is in the heatsinks - cases aren't too heavy

The idea is that by sending the motherboard only it lightens the weight and cost the minimum for posting. Then you can source the other parts locally including DVD drive, fans, heat sinks etc.

Still, one can sending you the motherboard with fans and maybe heat sinks and send the rest of the parts in a separate package. It's just that the postage service in the UK works in a ridiculous and un-competitive matter. If a package exceeds 2kg then it has to be sent via parcel force (courier) and will not be handled by the mail service at which cost is just way too high.

So still sending you a motherboard, with fans and possibly the heat sinks on their own excluding everything else might cost around the £20 region.

I looked on ebay Australia, and I searched and a few drives showed for about $30 Australia, but to be honest, if I put it all together, then I imagine it will be quite expensive. Do you think if I just used a random fan to cool the xbox, or maybe attached a heatsink myself would that be ok?

The heat sinks and fans are easy to source, hell I would give you some for free all you need is pay postage. It's the drive that you need to focus on, specially if you intend to connect the console online.

Thanks for the help.

So if I purchase the motherboard without heatsinks or fans, purchase the drive separately as well as the heatsinks and fans, I have a running xbox? I remember some older 360s can be spoofed.... So the question is, if this is all correct, does anybody have a working motherboard for sale?

Thanks everyone.

Yes, just make sure who ever sells you the motherboard to give you the drive's key it's OSIG or email you a copy of the original drive's firmware dump.

If you go online you can't spoof, you will need to get the exact drive that the console had.
