Brand new here, and already screwing up!

Just got the Xecuter3 CE and a 300 gig HD. Installed the chip and HD, turned on, and there was a blue screen that had several options.

I flashed the BIOS from the http:// site, and the green bar stoped at about 20% approx.

Lost power, so I turned it back on, now it will only do that on/off 2 times, and then the red light flashes on the eject button. Cant seem to do anything now. I press the power and eject at the same time, but nothing happens.

Any suggestions? still searchin the forums.

Thanks

It looks like you messed up your flash bios.

I think that the technical answer is it got horkulated.

Anywho... If you have a ver 1.0 to 1.6a then boot to the back-up bios by pressing power and eject and then get another copy of the bios you ran to be sure it's good and reflash on banks 5 - 8

If it's a 1.6b then... you're going to have to swap chips to get back in... unless you were wise enough to boot banks 5 - 8 and then flash banks 1 - 4...

In that case your good to go... just boot 5 - 8 again and reflash to 1 - 4:)

Hmm... the x doesn't go to purple huh...

That's weird. I've never heard of that not working... I mean, if the chip works then it should to.

Well, if your backup doesn't work try booting to the other bank.

on, on, off, off is 1 - 4 and off, on, off, off is 5 - 8

Ok, so banks 5-8 work nice, I get the X3 dash that has all the settings and such, but the manual doesnt show how to flash 1-4. I see how I can boot up on 5-8, then select 1-4 and it shows it as being selected, but if I flash from HDD or DVD-rom, nothing.

I haven't messed with this for a while, so I may be wrong. But... I think if you boot to x3cl on banks 5-8 and formatt your hdd, there is also an option somewhere to save x3 to hdd or something like that on x3cl. Do this, then boot to flash bios, choosebanks 1-4 and choose load bios from hdd. The bios should be in your C drive now so if you select it, it should flash to this bank. It's been a while but I think I remember doing this at one time.
