I'm posting again here since last time you guys were all a great help and hopefully this time will work out the same. Anyhow heres my situation. I have flashed my 360 Hitachi v46DH before, about 4months ago with Maximus-Garyopa 2.3 (I believe its hard to remember the exact version.) Anyhow back then I had a problem where the newest version wouldn't launch, as in the cmd prompt never would start up...

So I eventually just downloaded one of his older versions and it worked perfect. Flashed the 360 and now I'm trying to update to iXtreme 1.2. Yesterday I got Xbox360 into modeB but was on windows vista. Couldn't get any of these firmwares to launch so I figured oh its the Vista causing problems. Switched back to XP the same PC I flashed on the first time.

I'm currently having no problem getting the xbox360 in modeB using Slax. Now it seems I cant get XP to detect the drive anymore, when I first did this I seen the drive popup in my device manager as "Xbox360" drive letter:)J) My assumption that is isn't showing now is because its not the original Xbox360 firmware. Assuming that is the case all these firmwares still wont launch, the prompt starts for .5secs and then closes. So fast I cant even read it. I believe this is because it wont start without it detecting the Xbox360 drive.

So is the problem that windows isnt detecting the drive? Is that why the firmware prompts wont launch? I dont understand whats wrong since this worked the first time.

I did everything the same considering this is my second time doing all this. Xbox360+PC power>Slax boot>Spinning up disc eject(ModeB)>windows loading eject multiple times>Put xbox360 game into drive once I get windows loaded. Still don't seem to see the drive as if windows isnt detecting it but just yesterday Vista detected it, although I couldn't get any of those damn prompts to launch so I took it back to XP thinking Vista is messing it up.

If anyone has any ideas let me know here please. Thanks in advance!

heh unplug the damn hard drive and make a boot usb and flash off it. Or run a live XP Pro CD and run the flasher off the usb stick. Man this is some serious sh*t I'm hittin now... Good luck!

EDIT: Got Windows to detect the drive... right now its coming up as... CD drive. I put a Halo2 disc in it and it changes to..."SEP13011042072(F:)" Still though, cant seem to do any type of restore or even flash. I try launching the .bat files and they all popup but then suddenly quit out. Why is this? I dont understand why none of them want to start up at all.

install the "command here" power toy. Then find the "iXtreme-HitachiAll-RTMv3" folder(or w/e its called) and right click and hit open command window here. Then type in the command FLASHIX <drive letter> XXXX(4 unique numbers)

Hope this helps ;)

UPDATE: For future reference

I had a minor issue with windows XP but it had nothing to do with the flashing. Bacon made a great suggestion about the windows powertoy, it worked perfect. Thanks a ton Bacon! I restored my original firmware and then flashed with new firm. In the end this would most likely work in Vista if you can keep the cmd prompt running, but my case it didnt work without the powertoy Bacon suggested. FYI I tryed from a flash drive and even then it didnt work so... I needed the powertoy in the end.

Again 360mods you guys all rock, your a great help and if I can ever help anyone with anything just let me know and I'll try to suggest any info I can.
