Looking for some advice

Hello all-


I'm a new member to the site and to the world of modding, so please be kind.

I would like some advice on which mod chip I should by and what my options are. I'm an advanced computer person but I would prefer a solderless chip. Does Xecuter offer a solderless chip? Which stores to do recommend - fast shipping, best prices?

Lastly, my main concern is getting banned from Halo 2 live. I have a couple of accounts, I know some people use one for modding and the others for legit playing. Is there a way to turn the chip off when playing legitly so that you can't banned?

What setup would be best for my needs?

You need to tell them your xbox version ..

also I used to be an administrator on fxp board , nothing to do with modding but same type of forum and i think you need to be searching through the posts already here.. there are plenty of them that mention mod chips , were to buy and sh*t like that.
just thought i would tell you mate.

better to search and then ask questions ... research is your best friend

once you have researched ..then you will be better equipped to ask questions that you are not sure of the answers..

You're right, research is the way to go and I've tried. But most post or info I've found are old, I want to make sure I get the latest setup.

i would go for a x3, i have 2 and have installed many.

as for a solderless chip, yes xecuter does them which one depends on what version of xbox you have to find out go here...

if you have a 1.0 - 1.5 you will need this adapter to make your x3 solderless

as for where to buy from check out the official xecuter stores on the home page. if your in the uk i would recommend baldbaouncer.com

as for halo2 as long as you turn off the chip ( with the supplied switch) before you log onto live then you shouldnt get banned.

make sure you read ALL the install guides on the xecuter home page before you even attempt to install your chip.

well i hope you get all the info you need...i cant do anything yet as i dont have access to internet at home only from work .. which means i cant download anything until i get mt internet at home sorted..damn i better get it soprted soon.

It looks like I need the Xecuter 3 CE w/ Xapt3r v1.6, and this site has the best price(http://www.divineo.com/cgi-bin/div-us/dd-xb-x3sl16).

Now as far as a switch, do I need the X3 Control Panel or the X3 Pro Switch? Will either panel turn the chip on and off? If I don't need the LCD and stuff, will the pro switch attach wlth out altering the case?

the pro switch just plugs underneath the buttom of the case, no cutting etc required. everything that you can do with the pro switch you can do with the switch that you get with the x3, but the pro switch looks better, dont bother wth the control panel as the lcd's are naff quality.
