Hi all, I'm currently trying to glitch my jasper. Since my soldering skill is bad i have asked a friend with soldering skill to solder the qsb and wires from the coolrunner to the xbox mobo.

However when i tried reading the nand using jtag tool i have received this error " Looking for USB interface device, Can not continue" I have gone through the forum and there have been a lot of discussion about this.

Please note that that:
1. I have checked for bridging by using a simple setup of led, battery, wires and pins.
2. I have plugged in xbox power cable when trying to read the nand.
3. Flux has been used when soldering
4. I'm using nand-x that i have bought from xconsole last month, which has been claimed to be installed with "code v3". 5. I have followed the setup as mentioned in this link to the latest: http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75945
6. I tried using j-runner and was given similar error msg
7. I have installed nand-x " nandpro_20d_drivers "
8. I've selected "Jasper 16mb" when programming the coolrunner since i don't know the actual size of my nand

I would like the experience members to help list down activities that i can do to trouble shoot this problem.

Some of the things that i think i need to do but dontknow how to do it (as far as troubleshooting is concerned) are:
1.how to perform the so called "pin/pads continuity test", so that i know which point has a bad soldering. I really appreciate it if someone can describe how to do this to me.
2.how to validate whether my nandx is really running code v3 as claimed. Or maybe an advise if i should just update the nand-x as described in this link " http://www.team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74259&highlight=Nandpro3.0"

I'm looking forward for any response and many thanks in advance

Did you purchase the nand-x brand new with v3 code on it?

Edit - nevermind, saw that you already answered that.

Have you tried flashing your coolrunner yet (assuming you are also using one)? I ask because if you have the CR attached to the nand-x and not in program mode, it will kill your nand-x.

Yes i have. I followed the instruction in the thread stated above. Correct me if i'm wrong, after the coolrunner has been programmed the green led on the cr should switch off.

To figure out what jasper mobo you have turn it on and then go to memory!
He could do that but checking the Flash Config NandPro shows would be easier:

00023010 - Jasper 16mb
008A3020 - Jasper 256mb
00AA3020 - Jasper 512mb

This issue is caused by bad soldering most of the time so can you provide images please.

Is it safe to switch on the xbox now, when cr is still wired to the qsb?

I just need to make sure that but switch on the xbox at this state i'm not causing any issue later on inthe jtagging process. Thanks

Apologise. I do not have a decent camera now.

You maybe right about soldering. So i would like your advise on the following:
1. Should i desolder and remove both qsb and resolder it back again? If this is what you think i should do, can i still use these qsbs or do i need to replace with the new one.?
2. I've heard that continuity test can be used to detemine good/bad soldering. Any advise on how to do it?

Thanks.
