Nate, were you able to flash your NAND-X to 2.0 and see the wrong version in NANDPRO3? Did you get a new cable with the new NAND-X?

I fixed mine and it turned out to be a problem with the QSB. I did a pad-pin continuity test and one pad wasn't right, I soldered a wire direct from the pad to the connector and all's good, not sure if the pad lifted off the trace or the trace burnt or broke while I was using it, either way the Zephyr is now glitching merrily away.

I'd suggest anyone test flashing 2.0 to the NAND-X and reading with NANDPRO3 to see if it shows the wrong version 1st, saves possibly paying a fee to the supplier if the device can be proven to work. I can't 100% say this rules out a faulty device but seems faily indicative to me.

I'd also suggest a top(pad)-bottom and bottom-pin (if using QSB) continuity test to 100% rule out issues with soldering or the QSBs
Yes, when I flashed it to 2.0 and tried to read/write with 3.0 it gave me the incorrect ARM error. Like you, I thought that this meant my NAND-X was still working properly. However, I also did a continuity test on all of the QSB points, with no errors. I also tried with the wires straight to the points (no QSBs) and received the same errors.

I did receive a new cable with my NAND-X, however, both the old and new cables work with my new NAND-X, and neither will work with the faulty one.

I was able to determine that the first device was faulty because I left the same wires installed directly to the points and read them fine with my new NAND-X, then tried the same wires with my old NAND-X (without changing anything but the device) and it would not read at all.

It's a pain there's no way to diagnose the NAND-X directly and no way to debug the physical connections.
I'm actually designing a simple device to check the solder-point to NAND-X connections. It would be deas easy to use but latching relays are more expensive than I realised, making the device over £10 to build. I'm investigating alternatives to latching relays now :D

I just bought a new Nand-X with V3 code included and still got the same error on both consoles. Seriously I am getting crazy with this.

i had this error on the first time i installed the qsb. soldering looked good but decided to remove and do a wire install and now works perfectly

I guarantee a lot of who are getting this error and racking your brains out is not because of your soldering and it's either a dodgy QSB or NAND-X. Like I said, I was able to dump the NAND pre v3. As soon as I updated it, I got this error. I sent in an RMA with xconsoles. Waiting to get a RMA number back!

I had the same fault but as it goes i had a fresh xbox i could try it out on and it worked, i turns out i had damaged to board even though my solder looked fine, so maybe you products arent faulty just your soldering.

I have read through this whole thread before i decided to post so here are my findings to some up my problem. OK so i got my Nand X a week ago installed the wires to the points on my Slim console an got the Looking for USB interface device cannot continue so sat there for hour with jtag tool with the enter button pressed an finally i got four nands lol i know a long time.:rolleyes2::facepalm::rolleyes2:So then i decided to install the Slim QSB to see if i would get different results nope bout after awhile still got my nand Wow so i said lets try some thing different so i unplugged every thing from the QSB an just ran the NAND Read in jtag tool an got the same error so then it finally kicked in with a bunch of errors blah blah so needless to say the Nand X is faulty so i suggest trying these ways to figure if its the soldiering or if the nand x is faulty:facepalm::rolleyes2::p

I have the same problem.

How do you guys check the wires with multimeter?

These black, red and orange I understand. But how about the orange, yellow and green?

It is very easy, you just hold the motherboard somehow (I prefer in the side) in order to check the spot from underneath the motherboard and from the soldered front spot.
Check youtube for "continuity test".
So, my problem seems to be bad soldering...
...when I will find time I 'll fix it. Or try at least!

The 1st thing you have to do is buy a multimeter and check your soldering with it. I lost so many days in forums, I tried so many things but it was so simple... BUY A MULTIMETER and check your soldering with it FIRST!!!

will have a look tomorrow then, i have a multimeter somewhere, thanks, will post back, will it say looking for usb interface device, cannot continue then if its a bad solder job? also the lights are red and yellow, is this normal?

i presume i am doing it right, i am just soldreing the 6 or 7 wires to the mb going by the diagrams, plug in power brick to mb, plug nand x to pc an i get red an yellow light on, an then use jtag tool or nandpro v3,? still get sameerror though?

Have you tried flashing the nand-x back to 2.0 then reading with nandpro3? If that shows the incorrect ARM version it would appear that your NAND-X should be fine. Have you checked the soldering from the bottom of the board to the connector on the NAND-X cable? You could stick a small wire in each of the connectors holes (one by one probably) and check the bottom solder points of the mobo.
