Hi all.
I am looking for a bit of advice on what my options are for modding an Xbox 360.
Below is hopefully a useful amount of information for experts that can point me in the right direction.
I've done a bit of reading to try and understand my options, and of course am happy to hear suggestions.
The 360 I wish to mod is an old "fat" - a Falcon (175W power supply, HDMI). The dashboard kernel version is 13146.
I'm perfectly happy for this machine to be an offline-only 360, as I have a newer slim (looks like Trinity as its PSU lists 10.83A) that I'm happy to use completely stock.
From what I've read, the ideal situation for me seems to be to install an R-JTAG on this old system (my understanding is that the R-JTAG works well on all Falcons?).
I believe a single NAND would be enough since I don't care about going online with this system.
Being able to play my games without disc would be ideal, as the disc drive on this machine is in bad shape (reads OK but I have to use a paper clip to open it every time).
My soldering skills are frankly terrible, but thankfully I have a few work colleagues that do it for a living and would be able to help out.
And besides with, if the install fails, I'm not too worried - this thing hasn't been used in years.
Any advice on which way to go and which chip/kit to buy?
