lost fash bios

ive been trying to upgrade from 1959 to 2914, i have pressed start and eject
together and get the purple x logo on the box but nothing on the screen
have tryed all combinations on switch bank, but still no flashbios screen
its a 1.6b so im looking for3.03 can i load this via dvd rom or will i have to have it reflashed,and what is hotswaping and how do you do it,from a noob

are you using the stock a/v cable (composite cable)?

if you are using stock a/v cable and still no backup bios, I suggest to get on X3 config live of bios 1959 (by pressing down on white button of controller and power up the console with the power button) and flash your backup bios with flashbios 3.0.3.

to do that: Download flashbios 3.0.3 and ftp it into your xbox hd. Get on X3 config live. From there go to bios tools->flash backup rom.
