Just bought used XBOX Slim 250GB, with RGH chip, kernel version 2.0.16747.0, Dashboard: 3.0b rev483. Man. date 22/08/2011. Used from november 2013, so it's pretty much mint.
I needed a little bit more than 2 days for problems to start, and that was when I tried to do something more than just playing the games.
So, I extracted .img of a game (Guitar Hero) with Backup Creator, transferred it on FAT32 formatted USB drive, run .xex file to see does it work - it worked fine, then problem.
Following this (it's on Serbian, translated via google) tutorial, I tried to add new game to Library\Xbox360 Games. After many attempts, I kinda did it, I saw the game in the list, but the games were without covers and game infos. Then I run Guitar Hero, it kicked me out and showed ''online'' something, it can't (I deleted System Update folder when extracting). I thought OK, I will try to go out/in from Freestyle which I did, again to Library\Xbox360 Games - 0 of 0 games, no games found. When I go to manage paths, the path is the same as before (HDD1\Games). Again, in file manager, over the .xex file I tried to run PES2014 which was @console earlier - it works.
Tutorial says (translated via Google):
opens a new menu where we're going to change path, the rest do not touch anything
Then go all the way to the folder that we want and the Y confirm (select this directory)
It is desirable to change SCAN DEPTH 6 in the event that put the game into several sub-folder (eg game extractovana with ISO2GOD or XBLA games downloaded from the net when unpacking still have several folders and then at last be his Fillet of games)
then SAVE the X and follow to the end of all what it says it is now when the reset dash (Guide button and Xbox Dashboard) should load the game if you have the hdd, usb ... here with me it has read all of them, then you can download the Y Title Update if needed, and all covere although it works car, in any case, be on the Refresh Artwork
The bold part is a bit confusing. It didn't said anything to me, and the dash haven't reset.
I hope that the problem is easy to solve, that I didn't screwed up much.
P.S. Previous owner was (I think) transferring the games via external HDD, maybe it is a problem, that I wanna transfer them via USB?
P.S.2 If I in any sense breaking rules with this topic, please leave it for few hours, until I get home, hopefully solving this.
