I have a liteon DG-16D2S 83850c here that flashed a few months back on my pc so the key should be in the db, but the lad who owns the unit has had a go at flashing the drive himself with ltplus 2.0 and flashed it without the extracting the key first  - in my db they are keys for 27 83850c is there a easier way of finding out which it is than flashing each key and trying it ?

Regedit, Export JF DB to txt file, open, find (approx) date of flash showing 83850c model, that should be the key your looking for.

Hope it narrows the field.

Yeah i know about them options but the guy only give me the drive and not the full console so i wanted to be 100% on which key it was, Anyhow i have given it him back with a bunch of keys it could possibly be for him to mess with as i really couldn't be arsed with it.

Well done, serves him right for attempting something he clearly knew nothing about otherwise he would have known to either ask you for the correct drive key/dummy.bin or dump it from the drive before flashing with LT 2.0  lol.

Dummy from key db might have worked as the serial on the top of the drive should match what's stored in JF.
Ctrl + F (Windows OS) while in the Txt file would have done that trick quite nicely.

The guy does deserve a lesson though, agreed.
