Hi Guys

I'm a noob. I'm not going to try and deny it when it comes to lite-on drives

Flashing BenQ and Smasung, never had a problem.

I have a Falcon with a Lite-On drive 74850c. I upgraded to the latest flashy dash board and flashed LT2.0 on to it.

No my computer kicked the bucket, so i have to buy all new stuff. my SATA chipset was initially built into the motherboard and it worked like a charm.

I have since purchased CK3 Lite, and the Probe 3 and a Via 6421a SATA card.

Im trying to upgrade my drive to LT3.0 but i need to dump the firmware again. I've tried the MRA hack but its given me nothing but problems so i soldered the traces back together, tested the DVD-ROM and nothings changed. It works on LT2.0

Im trying to use this Probe 3 on point MPX01 but every time i press click PHATKEY > Yes > press the probe button down > Attach the probe to MPX01 > let go of the probe button i get PHATKEY failed.

From there the only way to get my drive recognised again is to eject it a few times and click device outro on MKT Flash.

Just so that i get this clear. I have NO KEYS or DUMPS for this drive. NOTHING! ( i know life a @£$%& )

Ive followed the Xecuter guide from this link but since my drive is no longer a 74850c im guessing that it no longer applies to me

The guide you should be following is this one I think.

http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66257

I wouldnt have botherd buying the Via 6421a SATA card, and just got the xusbpro instead. I know it cost more, but having just upgraded to one myself, they are worth every penney and I havnt had any probs with it.

Also as the board is a falcon you could always rgh it and ket the key that way.

You are not in vendor mode:

You have followed the JF tutorial and power off and back on the drive while sending the vendor intro ?

---------- Post added at 19:03 ---------- Previous post was at 19:01 ----------

You should get status 0x70 for vendor mode

---------- Post added at 19:05 ---------- Previous post was at 19:03 ----------

From JF tutorial

"The drive should be in Vendor Mode (0x70) now and return good flash chip properties, you can check in the Running Log or Flash Chip Properties, The drive should also show as “Drive In Vendor Mode!” in the Drive Properties "

You have to click PhatKey, press yes, power off the drive, probe MPX01 and power back on.

That should put your drive in vendor mode and you can continue from there.

Agreed. Sounds like you are not power cycling the drive.

I have never done it with a probe 3, but I made my own PMT probe with a switch on the 3.3v line. The only time it has ever failed me is because of user error.

i personally power drive on get it seen, then put my probe in place.
press phat key and when the dots start rolling i press the inline button once, then i press again while removing the probe, count to six then press and hold inline button again for a couple of seconds then accept, and save your files.

when doing liteon erase after getting your key i normally just accept everything and press the inline button twice, which always puts me in vendor mode again for the write.
