you can start by telling us what you want to do. as long as the console is booting you can get by doing alot of stuff without needing the backup files, but if you want to revert it to stock you will need the original nand.

It boots to xell reloaded page fine... I would like to put external hhd on it to run arcade and emulaters
and where did you read that you need your nand-image for that?

I was not sure if it was on or. Needed on USB stick
no you dont, i cant tell any reason at all that you do need it unless you are planning on dual nand it or revert it to stock.

If you have xexmenu, should be installed under games, you can put files on HDD and change config so it boots where you want. You can set it so you hold a button and it boots an alternative.

If you're booting to the xbox official dash it should be under games tab. Otherwise you can download and run from dvd.

I'm not really an expert. Not sure if you could just put FSD on USB but XEXmenu might already be on the games tab on the official dash.

Put xexmenu on a xbox formatted usb stick using Horizon on your PC.

Put the USB stick in your Xbox.

Go to System Settings, then to storage, select your xbox formatted usb stick.

Go to Demos

Find xex menu, and move it or copy it to your internal xbox hdd.

put dash launch, freestyle dash, and whatever other homebrews you want to have on a fat32 formatted usb stick.

put that stick in your xbox.

navigate to xex menu under games, open it up, use it to move the aforementioned homebrews to your xbox hdd, then uses xex menu to launch dash launch, and use that application to set everything up, most importantly, setting freestyle dash as your default, so it boots into that automatically.

You, personally, will most likely never need your original NAND image.
