Hi,

straight to the problem:

I was rghing a falcon. got the dumps, rewritten the ECC, got the CPU key (the console boots to show keys fine) and afterwards i out of reflex made it read the nands again and overwritten the originals, now it shows that the nands are not the same. So should i just use these anyway or should i get blank dumps and copy my cpu key over it? what should one do when he messes up like that?

You should be able to rebuild a stock nand out of that one.

You could generate a new retail image with xebuild using your cpukey + the dumps you have. You could use those dumps to even build your glitch image but, you will not be able to revert back to stock with those. The only thing that is per console data in the section that doesn't match is the keyvault I believe which is still intact. Build your glitch image first get your machine up and running and exploited then worry about the retail image after :)

Bad reflex you have there. :)

Anyway, you can proceed to image creation with the new dumps without problem.

ah ok. will try to get it up and running soon.

i don't really care much about the retail image because i just want to glich it and that's that. it'll stay gliched.

Then nothing to worry about just feed the builders your latest image. All the important stuff is still intact.

What did you use to build the image? Be sure to copy all the needed files in program's folder.

If you are using xebuild stand-alone then you need to rename your nand dump to nanddump.bin and put it in a directory within the xebuild folder (the default one is "mydata") then the software will take all the needed files from that directory.

In addition to what Ir0nman said, make sure you enter your CPU key in cpukey.txt OR options.ini, not both.

I personally delete 1blkey.txt and cpukey.txt and enter those in options.ini instead.

I generated retail image from hacked image and I'm playing 3 weeks now on Live. :) I think it works. :D
He doesn't have the hacked image nand, only the ecc nand. Unless I misunderstand what the issue is. You can't create an image from an ecc nand.

He said he dumped nand, created .ecc, wrote .ecc, then overwrote the original nand images.

Which means he read the ecc'd nand. So, he does not have a hacked image nand. I did the exact same thing before on a Falcon and the only way to recover was to use a donor nand to create a hacked image with my cpu key.

The ecc'd nand does not contain bootloader files necessary to create a bootable image.

well this makes it all clear. I'm trying to use the ecc-pached one. I do everything through J-runner and i point it to my nanddump1 and nanddump2 as in the photo below

never had a problem before, maby my instal got messed up? and by the way i got a few nand dumps and cpu keys saved on my pc from previous rgh'es. maby i can use those? take a dump from another xbox, use cpu key from this one and bam! or is this not so simple?

It has to be a Falcon, but yes you should be able to do that. I used multi-builder to create my hacked image using my CPU key, LDV value (you can look it up in Xell by counting the numbfder of "f"'s on lines 6 and 7 (I think it's 6 and 7) in your fuse set), and the donor nand.

Let me know if you need a Falcon donor, I have a few I can send you when I get home later today.

This is weird. Even if you have 2 ecc'd nanddumps they should still compare ok. Are you sure you have overwritten both files or only one??

Great point. OP - check the second nand dump to see if it shows the bootloader information for CB etc. Hopefully you still have the original second nand dump, in which case you should be able to use it to create a hacked image (or retail for that matter).

scratch that. i taken new dumps and they were the same. for some reason the first ones had one block difference. and i checked both nands. they are modified a few minutes after each other. so no good.

i got like ~2 or 3 falcon dumps and there is one dead falcy somewhere here around, can use that also.
