I received an X3 CE modchip and installed it. Once I started up the xbox it gave me several options on which I chose to flash the bios via http. I connected my xbox up to an internet connection and flashed the xbox, which afterwards it shut off. I started it back up and it gave me a black screen. I turned the xbox off and then hit the power and eject buttons at the same time and this is what appeared on the screen:

FlashBIOS(Cromwell)

Please Insert CD

I figured at this point I need to insert my dashbioard cd. After inserting the cd it says "loading" and then shows this:

CD-ROM Label:
No Bios update found.... Halting!

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong??

Did you happen to flash your flashibios with another version of flashbios...

What I mean is... you flashed a bios-loader with another bios-loader...

What bios did you flash with originally? Where did you get it?

I can't remember where I downloaded it from but it said it was an X3_Flash. Looking futher into it it says that this flash was distibuted with the X2 Mod chip? Is there any way to fix this??

Download the correct bios, take a look at this to help you get it.

http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/xbins.php

The latest for the X3 is 3294.
Other than that, need more information. What version is your Xbox 1.0 - 1.5 or 1.6/1.6b?
What switch setting did you use when you tried to flash?

ok, if you hold the power/eject buttons the X logo will turn purple. The backup flash bios will come up 3.01. then flash with the correct bios 3294.bin, with switches set to on on off off off.

Do it the same way you did it last time, because it worked. The only problem was you used the wrong bios. If you now have the correct X3 bios, use that. After that loads it will bring you to X3 Confg Live. My preferred way to setup your dashboards is throgh FTP, but if you want to use slayers disk, just chuck it in and let 'er rip.

WAIT!!!

Before you do what Rookio says... boot to 3.0.3 then change your switch settings to on, on, off, off, off!!!

That way if you screw up you didn't just flash over your only working bios!! :)

1.0 should boot backup bios just fine. I know skat said he used eject/power and got the flashX3 bios, but backup can only be flashed over from inside X3Config Live.
My guess is, if Skat loaded the backup properly it would still be flashbios 3.0.1

Hence, no need to preserve 3.0.3.

Of course, it is better to "err on the side of caution" right? Good Call Catatlyst
