thanks again.

I got my 3 good reads, they compare fine.

Used the jtag tool to write the xell to the xbox, but i'm sort of lost after that.

The thread says to follow the xell/xbr thread, but that is sort of confusing.

It says to power the xbox with the eject button. which seems to be the blue button on the corner, but it doesn't turn the machine on.

And what do I need to plug back in?

I tried plugging the fan & dvd back in, still had to use the gamepad to start it, and nothing gets displayed.

so i seem to be doing something wrong.

are you plugged in with HDMI? or the VGA needs to be the VGA cable ;)
dvd needs to be plugged in to boot Xell so you can get your keys..
and yes use the Eject button to boot the console on
(well maybe dvd drive doesnt need to be connected, never tried to just tap the button :/ )

The problem is, nothing happens when i press the blue button, or hold it down for a while.

I have the 360 connected thru the componet cables. I do have a vga & hdmi cable I could use.

The only way I can get it turned on is using a gamepad. And when I do that, nothing shows on the screen and the green light in the middle of the rings flashes on & off.

uhhhh yeah, if you cant use the eject button then you kinda screwed... have you tried to plug in the dvd drive, then use the Emergency eject?
what kinda drive you got? i can tell you how to e. eject ;)

and you have to use the VGA

or you could jump the eject lines power by tapping into it, make a small cut in the eject functions wire and give it a little jump with a 12v or what ever voltage the DVD drive requires..

i could be wrong on that last idea though....

EDIT:
ok looking at the mobo maybe a jump via SW1G1, get your multimeter out and find your lead on it and zap it real quick?

once again this is just a hunch, i dont have anything handy that i could attempt to jump it with or id try it first

EDIT:
the first one is not possible? since the Eject function is via the mobo.. but i could be wrong still

I've open the dvd case and opened the tray, still couldn't get it to start by the eject key, and it didn't display anything turning it on by a gamepad. But with the dvd plugged in, i get 3 red rings displayed, plus the green one that keeps flashing.

Not sure what you want me to do with the multimeter. what sort of reading should I take? Sorry, I am a bit familiar with them, just don't know what exactly you want me to do.

This whole experience is starting to be a pain. =) wish i didn't have to do it. but oh well, guess i'll get it figured out, i hope, sooner or later.

sorry for the late response i was in a car accident..

with the multi meter what you would need to do is find out the current (+) i.e. 5v or 12v, and then find a charger (with the same out put either 5v or 12v) and figure out which is the positive, ground the ground wire and just quickly tap the wire on the connection that you found positive under the eject button..

yet the funny thing is, is that center light shouldn't flash like that unless the DVD drive is open, or disconnected?

Okay, you talking about the 4 soldered points on the bottom of the pcb where the eject button is soldered to?.

Sorry to hear about your accident, hope everythings okay. And i'm taking my time with this, don't want to rush and make a non fixable mistake. Plus I got some new toys over this weekend (nvidia 3d vision) and supposed to be getting a couple of nvidia 460's tomorrow. Sort of like Xmas here. =)

I'll try to get some pics over the next couple of days, just to make sure i'm understanding what your saying.

thanks

yes that is where im talking about, check for the positive on one of the four or maybe it will require two of them to be jumped.

but im fine 3 perk and idk how many vika later

Sorry for the delay. RL came up and I haven't had time to do anything until recently.

Hopeing to finish this during the holiday.

I will get some pics up, and maybe start a new thread?

A couple of questions though.

How often is someone NOT able to use the eject to get the dvd drive to open up and start the xbox 360? Does it mean, that maybe my flash didn't take correctly?

I'd like to point out that my flashing/reading worked as long as I let it wait 30 mins or so between readings/writings.

For example, if I was to do 1 read, I'd have to let it sit after that, because if I tried to read the nand again, i'd get errors. If i let it wait for 30 mins, then I wouldn't get errors and i'd get the same image as the other good reads.

Anyways, I appreciate all the help i had gotten, and i know it's like 5 months later, but now i'm back and hopefully getting this working. =)

I'll be back later with the pics that were requested so long ago.
