Your soldering is probably the issue here. You need to post pics somehow or nobody can help you.

is there any other reason it would happen? i understand the need for pics but right now that is impossible, as i stated my wife is away and i'd have to use her phone for pics.

asyou may or may not be able to tell i passed the cables through the solder and hole. i can guarantee nothing is touching. i want to check them with a meter but the new one i just bought didn't come with a battery (which is half the size of a triple a...never seen one lol) but i'm still getting all errors and now i'm getting io timed out: no more bytes!....any ideas?

how can it be bad soldering? i've passed the wires straight thru the board, no way for any wire to to touch wire no way for solder whiskers to touch. no way for any wire to cross another wire.... maybe i could clean the flux off but that's it. no, there is something else going on, i saw where martin posted in another thread that was close to mine something about rebuilding the nand or remapping the blocks? but now i can't find the thread

U don't need to pass the wires straight thru the board. Your pics aren't the best but it looks like a mess from what I can see. Its got nothing to do with rebuilding the nand or bad blocks. U haven't even got that far yet. Do as as Mikaz says and then try again.

yes i'm soldering to the bottom. and i pass thru the board because i know i'm a noob and am just learning, which how am i supposed to learn without doing. i cleaned the flux off resoldered the board. still the same problem. i'll post pics later of the re-solder. and include the blue and green wire. but why would you need pics of the connection to the jrp?
