Just wanted to send a BIG KUDOS to everyone at Team Xecuter. After installing the X3 chip into my "coma box" two months ago, I've had no problems and nothing but smoooth gaming. Now all I need is a 200 gig HD to back up my games and the ever so elusive, V4 retail bios so I can use XBL and I'll be set. Thanks again for a strong product and bios, I couldn't be happier!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I was under the impression, that if I loaded the retail bios to my mod chip, I could still use XBL. As a matter of fact, I think someone on this forum told me that.

Yeah that's true, but it's only helpful to cheaters and people with half broken motherboards. If you can disable the chip, just do it that way.

I hope your luck runs better than mine with a coma console. I did just like you did to fix the problem, but within 4 months, the systems degraded so bad, that even the x3 wouldn't turn it on anymore. I never could get it to turn on with mod chip disabled. It finally just decided to totally die. I got mad, and wire soldered the chip into a second hand 1.0, and I'm happy. I guess it depends on a lot of things the make up coma symptoms. Some are more fixable than others.

Microsoft must have had some cheap #$% boards go out at one time, as I see a lot of coma consoles that have never been opened/modded . #[email protected]% 3rd country manufacturers and cheap parts I guess. Mine was a 1.2/1.3 never could narrow it down to one or the other. The X3 even said it was a 1.2/1.3.

I'm not looking to cheat, I just want to get back on XBL. If I disable the chip, the box boots to a black screen. Problem is, I can't get on Xbins to download the retail bios. Besides, I've got a Mac running OS 9.2 and there isn't a program out there (that I've found) that my computer can run to properly download and open it (not to mention I'm pretty computer illiterate when it comes to that stuff). If I could get the bios sent to me, I can forward it to my buddy that loaded my X3 and EVOX bioses to the chip.

Oh that's cool, you fall into the other catagory... people with halfbroken mobo's LOL

That bios may be on xbins, not sure! If it is just get your buddy to go and download it himself.

I found a guy that had both versions for the V4 and he sent them to me. My buddy opened both files and said they look good. He's gonna load my chip next week. Here's hoping the proper kernnel works and I don't get banned.

One other question. When I boot up using the retail bios on my X3, will the HD automatically lock or do I have to make sure it's done manually? Thanks again.
