the LPC holes are covered which i believe its a V1.0 and i just ordered a xapt3r and was wondering if that is a great idea and how would i connect it when the holes are covered because the xapt3r has sharp pins to connect and do i still see to solder the HD LAN and D0 in the back ?

thanks

The little adapters that came with the xapt3r and yes you will have to solder the Hd and Lan on the back. The spring wire on the xapt3r is used for the D0 on the front on the board.

Depends on your soldering skills. Anytime that you solder something it is a stronger and more stable connection.

I know I'm not an expert but in my experience you should save your money and do the wire instal method on a V1.0 Xbox that is unless you've already removed the solder in which case you've got good enough soldering skills that you don't even need a solderless adapter. Don't get me wrong the Xapt3r is an excellent adapter with the LEDs to let you know if its installed properly. But it's just not very compatible with V1.0 Xboxes. The trick I used with the D0 wire is I trimmed it to about 1/16" and tinned the wire and left just a "little" dab of solder on it and placed it on the D0 point and heated it for about 2 seconds and it stuck.

also you dont have to solder the HD and LED wire's. they are just an option.
but if you can solder a DO or LCP you can easy solder those points

Just a quick one..If you do decide to use the xapt3r, make sure you do de-solder those holes. Dont be tempted to try and crank it down on to of the solder hoping the xapt3r pins will break through. You will trash your mobo.. Sorry if this sounds noddy but you would be surprised how many people would try it.

Good luck..

p.s. Solder installs are always better if you can hack it.

I would use Solder Installation... it is simply the best option...
