You got a v1.0 xbox, you will have to use the wire install or desolder the solder with desoldering braid.

CANADA EH!!
you dont alwais need braid... It's accauly more dangerous braid on the LPC... (to my experiance) you have the posibility to remove the accual trace... (metal contacts) Ive done about 60-70 xboxes and 1 X3:) but i say go for a pump... just have patience.

I would get the xapt3r if I were you so that you don't have to mess around with unsoldering the LPC points. Also the xapt3r will be easier, NO SOLDERING :)

The bottom of the Xapt3r has pogo's which should fit right on top of the LPC holes even if they are covered up. I could be wrong but the Xapt3r is supposed to be compatible with 1.0 Xboxes.

the Xapt3r only works in unfilled LPCs... you will have to solder anyways

WRONG!! the pogo pins go onto soldered holes the little cylinders that come with the xapt3r are for empty holes

Ahh, I see how pogo pins work now. I was thinking they expanded side to side for some reason, but I see how they work now. They expand down, that way screwing down the Xapt3r makes them push down onto the soldered holes. Now it all makes sense. Never had experience with pogo pins before.

I have used the pogo pins on my old Matrix chip and I found out that it is best to have a little solder in the holes so that it makes a concave hole then the pogo pins will sit in there better the only thing that I soldered was the D0 because on the Matrix it had a pogo pin for the D0 and that didnt work good so I soldered it

I would make concave or divits and then it wont move around

thats my 2cents
