ok, i've looked all over the forum and have found topics related to my question, but not really addressing it specifically. so as a last resort, i'm trying a post.
long story short: i have an xbox 1.0 and an x3 chip. friend desoldered existing lpc and tried the pin header. panel light flashed red and xbox was continuously booting on and off while eject was blinking orange. checked soldering but decided to attempt wire install instead (pins were a bit mangled after removing them).
problem is that one of the lpc holes that needs to be soldered to is missing the shiny metal ring. i noticed all the other holes have them. how important is that metal ring in the lpc hole? can i still successfully install my x3 chip somehow (either by pin or wire)? would getting an xapt3r help me any? someone offered to switch out my mobo and fix it for $30 plus shipping. is that reasonable? any help would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks in advance!
btw, my xbox still runs perfect in stock.
