i have my drive flashed with LT+ 2.0. I recently burned an XGD3 copy of a game with the max burner FW. It wrote ok and verified 100%. Now when i stick the disc into a lite on with lt 2.0 works fine, it installs and boots just fine. Then i put it in my benq and it just says play game, and when i boot it i get disc unreadable. Anything else i put in my benq works flawlessy, retail or backup. Any thoughts?

also, i reflashed to see if that was an issue and i got the same results

Have you tried cleaning the laser, I know you say everything else works but its worth a go. Remember rubbing alcohol is best for cleaning lasers.

you are tryin LTPlus-025-v2.0.bin for the lite on i take it.
yes, the liteon works flawlessly. Boots my XGD3 no problem. Then my benq does not.

do retails play on the benq
yes, all my retails and all my non XGD3 backups load on my benq, then i put in a verified XGD3 backup and it wont boot. but that same copy that wont boot in my benq boots just fine on my liteon

But have you tried cleaning it first, alot of the time this will solve your problem. Worth a try before messing changing the laser

Can anyone explain me how does flashing destroy laser? It doesn't make any sense! You just flash drive, software not hardware!

Also, does guys that forking flashing profesionali remove that laser cable every time?

I have flashed hundreds of drives no problems with lasers and thats without removing the cable. Backup games require the laser to be a full power this is why people have problems. 9/10 cleaning will solve your problem.

Backup games put more strain on the laser because they are harder to read so over time it weakens the laser, you can use a laser out of a benq or a liteon so before buying a new laser just swap your liteon laser into your benq and see if this resolves your problem, you could also try the pot tweak on the benq but this solution is only temporary and will require replacingin time.
