HITACHI NON-79 LT 2.0 not playing xgd3

I have a 78 hitachi that i have just flashed to 2.0, the flashing went fine, dumped>restored>flashed to LT, but the drive will not play any of my XGD3 games.

It detects the disc and play game appears before auto booting, but then it just sits in a black screen.

it's not been online in months so the recent update isn't the issue.

worn out laser maybe? but it plays everything else fine.

any ideas.

I'm having the same problem except when I try to run a xgd3 game it gives me 1 red light and e66 error every other game works fine thou that isn't xgd3. Would appreciate it if anyone can help us :/

@op hitachi are sh*te at the best of times reading aan xgd2 game and with the extra strain in reading an xgd3 you can expect a lot of issues playing from disc. try and read it to the hard drive.

I have a 59 guys same problem flashed to lt 2.0 plays everything but xgd3 keeps saying clean disc. But the same disc works in my benq drive no probes.

No surprise as hitachi are sh*t drives. The backup quality needs to be supreme to work correctly.

I have took my drive apart cleaned the lens no luck.

Remember its an AP25 capable drive - so your backups must be created from dae.bin that matches whats on your console! -

Otherwise you will be using wrong replies to the AP25 challanges

No as I said, its not a hardware problem as legit games work a well as burnt copies like dead island . I play offline. Also my drive is a hitchai flashed with 2.0 then a spoofed lite on flashed with 2.0. I read spoofing causes problems for xgd3, and som1 suggested to flash with hitachi firmware but with a lite on key so no spoofing, would this work? Thanks

It looks like it's the laser, gave it a clean and pot tweak and it will read the discs sometimes...

So see ya a lot of ppl are getting it. Could it be not having the newest dash? I havent updated the last update (Oct 12th or whatever ) but have all other updates ..

Just fitted a 59 and its fine. Its not being used online so I can't see it being a problem

i've had 2 in this week a customer bought that e66 when an xgd3 game is put in the drive. both have samsung drives when they should have hitachi's. i also had one a few weeks ago with a hitachi 79 in that should have had a liteon it also gave e66 when inserting an xgd3 game. you can easily verify if this is the same issue you are having by reverting to stock and booting an original xgd3 game. if it e66 with the original it is definatly the wrong model drive. just trying the original may do the same but i went to stock first.

i cant unerstand why your seeing e66 then if the original was fine. the update also fails if its the wrong drive so it must be the correct drive. i'm on a hunt now to see if i have a 79 console left lol.

oops. well cant get everything right all the time if it is a bug. hitachi's are going to struggle with backups of xgd3 games anyway i think. even my benq hates playing from disc so the hitachi has little hope without a spot on laser

i also have the same problem, backup wont work but original works fine so your not alone matey.
