ANSWERED LT 3.0 for Hitachi 78/79

I've asked this and gotten a yes and a no for an answer from some knowledgable people...it's a lil confusing and I'll find out this weekend but here it is:

I have a liteon box that I put a Hitachi 79 with LT 2.0b in. It will not play xgd3 backups

Will LT 3.0 allow me to play my xgd3 backups with this hitachi in the liteon box? Why or why not?

I'm thinking it will...

What do u mean "hitachi in the liteon box"?

There is NO LT3.0 for hitachi 79 yet. So no xgd3.

LT 3.0 for the hitachi 78/79 is supposed to be released this weekend!!!
