Hi I have been dying to mention this for weeks so here I go.
I have been repairing consoles since zx spectrums :)

I have had an LT Switch for ages in my old phat elite.

Trouble came when I wacked the stock firware back on for the updates (3 ) for mine .

Microsoft read that the hardware was fiddled with ie: LT switch I assume.

I never got banned as such just a long error code meaning hard ware messed with . Which is true.

My worry now is that I am starting doing slims is the Sputnik unlock pcb.

Is this switch going to cause same problem will MS
start throwing us indirect bans through these switches.

I think what happened was the update to dvd didnt flash chip.

As you more illuminated know you cant even use a cd or usb because as updating says basicaly get stuffed ! and a huge error code same one again.

In a weird way i updated the liteon with 0225 firware spoofed with ofw.

then I played a japenese rf game and that actualy did the uodate when i couldnt do it any other way ?

Weird is a good word for this scenerio :))

If you knew what the LT switch actually did (which you obviously don't), you'd know it wasn't the use of the LT switch which got you banned, but the use of badly ripped/patched/burned discs on a drive flashed with vulnerable firmware.

None of the above actually fall in the realm of the LT switch, so it might be a better idea to not accuse a hardware on/off switch as the sole reason you were banned.

I never played copied games online thanks i just like modding which i enjoy as a hobby.

YES the lt switch Was the problem because all the 100's of xboxs i have updated and worked never had this problem .

Except for the one with the LT switch fitted .

So chill out and if you lot so smart where is the explanation rather than condemnation ?

I have a laymans idea of how things work thanks.

but the real question is will the sputnik 360 unlock pcb
have the same problems if a drive flash comes again in the form of an update ?

Will the update get passed the switch to the dvd reader chip ?

Try giving a working answer , it may help others ,

or will you lose money and business , which is what its all about realy huh ? just like everything else .

Well the LT Switch was a bit of HW that was only used outside of the console! in its normal operating configuration - it was wired to make the connections that were cut during installation

In short - whilst connected to console and in use the wiring configuration was infact stock! - there is no way the console could detect that the HW had been altered!

so from a HW point of view - No it did not get your console banned!

NOW Software factor aside - if you decided to use your 360 itself to power the drive during flashing - THAT is a different matter! (and entirely your own fault, since its been documented long before LT switch appeared that the console registers and counts being booted with no DVD present)

However as has already been pointed out - the more likely cause is the FW was detected or you had poor backups!

The FW evolved to where it is now due to M$ adding additional checks to discover the FW presence.

To conclude - blaming the HW (LT Switch) is just plain stupid. It was the most simplistic design, elegantly put onto a PCB - and in itself totally undetectable!

Maybe a little more thought on your behalf would have been advisable here!

now if you follow the sputnik switch design you would come to the same conclusion and wouldn't be posting such questions here!

at the end of the day - you messed with it - man up and accept the possible consequence!

Sounds to me like an update loop error and nothing to do with banning. Just like always you should revert to stock before updating for this very reason. Another case of user error I reckon.

he was flagged for a ban & it just happen at a different time, nothing to do with a switch that makes a connection to a cut trace, lol. bad game rip got you banned or something you installed on the HDD that should not of been there & you went online, the hdd was scanned & you had homebrew or something else there, & the only way it can get there is hardware mods ;)

don't use the same hdd you use offline, & flash stock firmware = dvd & nand when on live & use a different hdd that only has live info on it. & only stock games - no back ups. & you wont ever see a ban even if you have a switch installed!

If you ever so much as CONNECTED to xbox live (i.e signed in) with a bad backup it would be enough to flag you as auth checks are carried out. You don't need to be PLAYING online for this to be true.

However, being banned on Xbox live for playing a bad game is like eating a tin of beans and working out which one made you fart.

This is like saying you're cousins AV Cord got you banned.
It does the exact same as the original, it won't get you banned.
