hi guyz, i have a 0401 lt2.0 but dont know its dashboard as i dont have the power supply to know =((
so if i update to lt3.0, and then discover its the lt2.0 dashboard if i update will it return stock or update error

Why don't you flash stock first before you update?

well thats the thing, i dnt have the power supply, or else i would have gone stock, updated, then lt3.0 =((

0401 would be after the time MS flashed drives. You should be fine.

Do you mean you dont have the power supply for the console?

Go to any local shop that sells gaming consoles and pick one up.
