M8_16 or X2_5035

I've been reading for two days....everyone has a different opinion. I found the files I need from xbins, but not real sure how or what to do from here. I cannot d/l X2BM v2.3 from Xecuter because the link is bad. All I get is garble on my screen. I have a 1.6 XBOX (not the 1.6b), and have the X2.6 chip. Trying to get everything in order before I start. Can I just take the X2_5035.bin and rename it to BIOS.BIN....add a 1 gig DUMMY.BIN and burn with Nero? Or do I have to use X2BM v2.3 to show it into the banks?.....The first time is quite painful! Looking forward to "knowing" the next time...Thx

Get 5035. It is already 512k, so you won't have to resize it all. A 100 meg dummy file should be fine. Be sure you use the 5035 for your Xbox, there are two in the rar file. I'm impressed you are actually taking the time to get everything sorted before starting. You will end up saving yourself some headaches.

BTW, the link for X2BM isn't bad it's just that your browser doesn't know what to do with .rar extension files. If you right click on it (assuming windows here), select to "save target as" and then name it with a .rar extension you should be fine. You'll then need a utility such as WinRAR or ZipGenius to decompress it, but you'll need those for the 5035 BIOS as well since that too is a RAR archive.
