M8plus_16 bios question

ok i flashed the M8plus_16 bios on my x3ce chip when i would boot with this bios it would start up the flubber scean with the evox sign in the corner then it would load the ms dash. is there somthing i did wrong or is this wats suposed to happen how do i use slayers evox auto installer v2.6 ot install evox when this happens.

Everything is fine, except you forgot to configure which file your bios boots from. You need to use the evtool program to modify your bios so that it looks for the correct evox dash file on your harddrive. But why are you using the m8+ when you could just use a (better) x3 bios?

im using this because this is the only one that succesfully flashed i tryed to flash the new x3 bios on my 1 mb bank but now when i try to boot from the bank its just a black screen and then shuts off and i dont know how to reflaash it. if you could help me out id appriciate it

1.) check your switches

2.) in order to re-flash hold the eject and power buttons to boot your xbox

3.) use flash bios to flash the chip

i was aware when you hold power and eject it is the backup and the size is only 256 and the xecuter bios is a 1mb flash how would this work, thanks

ummm you flash the 2mb chip with the backup bios, that's why it's there. So even if you have a bad flash you're chip is still good.

i didnt know that you could flash your 2mb chip with the backup can you please give me step by step instructions id appricate it and thanks for all your help.

um that doesnt help me about anthing, i have already been there and read it all ,you said i could re flash the 1mb banks i lost controle of, the ones where the flashbios screen doesnt come up any more because of a bad flash, you said i could do it using the back up bank but isnt the back up bank just another bank how will this help me flash the x3 bios thats 1 mb. sorry bout not understanding.








is the backup bank 256 kb in size or two megs

The backup bios is on board the X3 (ROM). Hold the power and eject buttons, X logo will turn purple.

hi i am a newbie to this ..but this is what i did after a bad flash with my X3ce.
make a flash cd(not forgetting the 100mb file)DVD-R is better..press the ej and power on buttons till you get the flash screen..ok so far..

chose from the menu " flash from dvd rom " it will eject the tray BUT WAIT..

the switch on the front of teh xbox should be set to ON/ON/OFF/OFF/OFF

put the disc in and close the tray..then it will reflash auto...

dissconnect your switch, boot to the backup rom, networkflash. When you use the backup rom it only flashes the 2mb rom, if you give it an x3 bios with the switch dissconected then it will flash the first 1mb bank with the x3 bios.

Once you boot the backup bios, makesure your 1MB bank switches are set and flash away. You can switch bankswhile its on.

i cant get connected to net flash can i just flash using a cd-rw


also do i need to burn the x3 .ini file on the cd with the x3 bios on it ,also about disconecting the swich do i disconect the wires from the chip or the swich, thanks

just burn the bios and the skins folder

ok i did this last night i burned the x3 bios named as bios, the skin folder and the ini file i flashed the chip using the backup on the 2mb bank like you said earler and i get the same thing when i try to turn on my xbox it turns on for a second with a black screen then shuts off and stays off there is no frag it just shuts off..and it dosnt do that thing where it turns on and off threetimes so i dont think its a bad flash.anything else i can do, thanks

check your switches and did you flash the right bios?

first i tryed my 2mb bank(off off off off off) tryed to boot it up , you know the sound the drive makes like a second after you turn your xbox on, it shuts off right after that but any ways then i tryed it on my 1mb bank(on on off off off), the same thing happend. i know it was the right bios the X3 3108 v16plus bios because i have a v1.6 xbox, also do i need to combine the ini file with the bios some how because i just put them on the same cd-rw. also can i send the x3 bios file i have to your email so you could check it out for me and tell me if anythings wrong with it. my email is [email protected] just send me a message so i can get ur email and i can send it to you right now.

if you got the bios from xbins it's fine, try flashing with the switch dissconnected from the modchip.
