I'm no noob. I modded 4 box so far but this is my first 1.6 with x3 box. Before anyone tell me to read i have read and searched first. Ok heres my problem. First off I have a 1.6 and using x3. I did the wir install and yes i did the rebuild. Everything was going smoothly until I came to the pc to debate which dashboard to install on this box. I flashed everything correctly and i got the x3 screen and was ready to config but when i turned it off and back on it boots to MS and my switch lights wont come on when i boot up. Plus i removed my hard drive without saving anything. Sounds confusing but i did everything correct and I cant get the x3 bios to boot up anymore. What should i do?

Check your soldering, something may have come loose - ie the d0, LPC rebuild points or alt 5v

Do you get any blue LEDs to light up on the X3 chip?

Either my couch or my chair.
its one of your voltage points if you only get one led on. just check your solder points.

ok . my dip switch will not light up anymore either is it causing that to not light up as well

If you voltage to the chip isn't right, then there is a good chance that nothing associated with the X3 will work properly. The panel is attached to the chip, so fix the voltage to the chip first ... then worry about the panel.

As rh387 said - "just check your soler points."

I thought I remember hearing that the 3.3v is what powers the front switch. I would have to say either your solder wastn all that great and while it warmed up after runnning the solder joint expanded and is no longer making a good connection. I would take the hard drive and dvd drive out and power up the xbox. Dont be stupid, dont touch the Power supply dont stick a screwdriver or other device in there. I will take no responsibility if you screw something up or hurt yourself.

That said gently push on the top corner of the x3 chip over the pinheader. Now check and see if you have both leds lit. If tey are then its def your solder and you should touch up your points/or add more solder so they fill em up.
