Ok I have a Xbox 1.0 and a xecuter 2.6 and until today i have never had any problem.

Ok so my friend and I were in the Evo dash of my xbox. He goes into the BIOs and wanted to change the startup color to blue instead of red. I myself dont have experience with this so I didnt know exactly what he was doing. I know not to play with the BIOs tho.

So he see a file called Blue Getty or something like that and I know for a fact it was 1mb. He clicks flash and when I had my head turned I look back and see its deleting something. My instinct is to turn the Xbox off. I do so.

Start the xbox up with mod on. Now what it does is it starts up restarts 2x and then it blinks red. I tryed the the regular MS dash and it worked but now my xbox wont load games. Not the games on the HD bc obvisly i cant load them but the discs. Also everytime i go to the MS dash i have to reset the time.

I think all bios got deleted due to the fact i turned the xbox off while they were flashing. So whjat should I do?

Help me please

oops - fatal mistake - turning the xbox off mid flashing - corrupted bios all the way now!!!!

the deleting was nothing to worry about thats the order of events when flashing 1) delete old bios 2) flash new bios 3) verify new bios

if you have no way of accessing the flashbios backup then you have absolutely no way of reflashing at the moment.

Not sure exactly what chip you have got but you may be able to purchase an external programmer from one of Xecuters resellers or it's the hotswap method - you need to know someone who has their xbox chipped and is prepared to let you use their xbox to hotswap.

if none of those options are availible to you - NEW CHIP TIME

what happens when you swtich banks?

if the samething happens, then yes you will need a programmer or to do a hotswap with another chip and box

well then if i must do that. Then would anyone be intrested in buying it. I dont think it worth getting it sent out to get fixed and putting prob about $50 into it. Ship alone would be $30. And I myself cant install a chip. I guess I could try but I know nothing about hotswaping and switching bios etc. I think I would end up ruining it more.

Whats my best call here?

If you buy another 2.6 chip you should be able to simply move the connectors from the old chip to the new one, whether it is a pinheader or wire install. The new chip will come with FlashBIOS 3.01 and 3.03, so you can then flash the chip with your BIOS of choice. You may be up and running like you were before after just that. Just don't turn the box off this time when the flash is running. :)

I'm sure there are people around here that would be interested in your chip, those that either have a programmer or are brave enough to hot swap.

I think there is a forum here for people to advertise that they do installs, maybe someone in there has a programmer and will reprogram your chip for cheap, or nothing. But like I said, if you go the route of a new chip it should be a pretty easy replacement so long as the chips are the same versions.

Actually, themodchip.com currently is running a special where you can get a 2.6CE chip with a programmer, $30USD with free shipping. Could pick this up, reprogram your chip then be able to sell off a *brand new* chip. Hopefully be able to get back a good portion of what you spent. Seems like a good idea to me. http://www.themodchip.com/usa/product.php?productid=16208&cat=5&page=1
