Making Flashbios DVD question

I have read the tutorial on how to make a Flashbios DVD but there is a sentence at the bottom of the index that says." THIS TUTORIAL WILL NOT WORK WITH STANDARD XBOX FORMAT DISCS. YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THIS GUIDE FOR THAT"
My question is, What are "standard Xbox Format discs"?
Can I just use my DVD-R disc and follow the Nero burning tutorial or do I have to do the Qwix thing?

I Tried loading a new bios(X2 5029) using the screen on the TV and everything went well, erase, flash, verify. I rebooted and nothing. Just frag.
So I start the Xbox by pushing both pwr. and eject and get the appropriate screen. I invoke 'enable network flashing' and select the file by using the 'browes' button, when I click on 'upload & flash' I see in the bottom left of my browser that it says 'connecting' then 'sending request to 192.168.0.99' But nothing happens. I wait for 15 mins. Nothing.?
So, I would like to try flashing using a DVD disc or if someone can help me get reconnected via FTP or http that would be great.

u will haft to figure out what dvd's work with ur xbox depending on ur xbox DVD rom if its a samsung u should be able to use just about any dvd

can anyone point me to where those tutorials are, i don't know what i'm doing wrong i installed X3 on v1.6 and the chip lighs up blue, but when i boot it goes to xbox dash, and i don't know what to do next there is NO manuals on this site or others, and the Q.A. portion in install. support assumes that you installed FlashBios 3.01 --> for v1.6

p.s. i also have the new control panel with the LCD, and 5 switches and two leds...and there is no instructions on how to install that either, i had to figure it out on my own...anyone please help...
