So you're not even getting a chance to erase?

Are you using a NAND-x or J-R Programmer?
Correct, I don't get a chance to erase because it responds with bad flash config in
like 5 seconds after I press RUN. I am using a NAND x reader, I haven't tried the jrprogrammer v2 yet tbh. Should that make a change? When I get back from work today I'll try the jrprogrammer v2 and perhaps also other cables etc.

Edit: i just did a quick test before go to work. Shorted nand resistors again, then with jrprogrammer it still displays bad flash config in jrunner, but with nand x displays good flash config?! So when i switch during this good flash config to jrporgrammer to see if it would write with that, it gave me this :

Code:

Edit 2; Btw i will when i get home, resolder the nand x wires again just to be sure. I'll replace my nand x wires with new ones also just to be sure. I will replace the mini usb cable for the nand readers...put some flux over all the solder points and retouch them so there won't be any possible short...walk over every point or wire to test continuity with my multimeter....all just to be sure it isn't all that.

no, the second you get a good flashconfig try to erase block 0.

NAND-x: Use NANDPro.

nandpro usb: -e16 0 1
Ok will try that when I'm home. Sounds good.

Edit: I don't want to be "worst case scenario thinker", but what if this also doesn't work? I have tested all continuity and resistors and all values come out nice. The mobo still getting standby power etc etc. When this fails, does this by your or anybody elses experience, point out in a specific direction?

Keep in mind, that when i had the demon installed, i could read and write to both nands and switch between them without any errors. This was after i actually fixed the original problem of this thread the "manufacturer code not found error" (by resoldering two demon qsb points)

So BEFORE i retouched/resoldered the two demon qsb points which gave me no coninuity and solved this original problem, the rf ROL module would blink (no dvd) green and there was power to the board, just no glitching... Where did this go wrong, i followed it to the step...I wrote the original nand back to the xbox and wrote the already created updflash.bin to the demon. That is where the no starting/booting began...

Ok i just followed it: I get this:
Code:
C:\Users\Gamesfreak\demon install\Nandpro30>nandpro usb: -e16 0 1
NandPro v3.0a by Tiros
Looking for usb interface device
usb_bulk_read failed -5
Can not continue
C:\Users\Gamesfreak\demon install\Nandpro30>nandpro usb: -e16 0 1
NandPro v3.0a by Tiros
Looking for usb interface device
usb_bulk_read failed -116
Incompatible ARM firmware for this version of NandPro!
usb_bulk_read failed -116
Flash Config: 0x00413787
Block Size: 16KB Block Limits: 0x000000..0x000000
File:
Erasing
usb_bulk_read Erase Status failed -116
usb_bulk_read failed -116
Error:413787 erasing block 0
C:\Users\Gamesfreak\demon install\Nandpro30>
Does that mean it worked because i of course read error erasing block 0...? Can i try write the Original nand? I just tried writing Original nand, still wrong version.

Well let me explain, i do the screwdriver thing, i open Jrunner to see if i have the correct flash config. Yes i do, then i open nandpro and give the command nandpro usb: -e16 0 1. Then i get what i got. I have tried nandpro 3, nandpro 20.b nandpro 20 d, nandpro 20 e. where the last two don't work at all, it gives this message: ""nandpro is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file"

via repair 2 resistor rip.jpgOk here is what i just discovered. With the the last time trying to short the resistors i accidently lifted the resistor shown circled in red... What now? Shall i just send it in for repair Martin or is this fixable??

Use a ohm resistor? Is there any other kinds of resistors used in electronics?
Well what i actually ment was, is there a way to put such a resistor like when you repair in example the R4B24 stdby_clk on a phat with a 33 ohm resistor, then scrape a trace and solder from there to another trace or so...Resistors.jpglike these and not the one i just stupidly ripped off...resistor.jpg

Yes its possible but i would recomend put a new 0402 size resistor of the correct value there as its supposed to be.

How about posting the damage?

if uve ripped the pads off then ur gonna have solder to the nand pin. its not to hard and with you soldering skill u should be able to do it but if not i would use a smd resister. i would go with Antalpromille and use a 0402 smd resister

If you see the damage, there is still a little part of the resistor on the motherboard. How would i solder the smd resistor to/on it? And if i would solder to the pin of the nand leg (which i prefer) then i guess there needs to be an (10) resistor between also. I should solder directly from the via point that i've also ripped? (Hurray for the ripper, not. lol)

So there's one intact pad and one missing pad.

Do me a favour and check that intact pad, as I believe it's GND. If so , just solder a 10k resistor with one end on GND and the other on the end of the blue wire you have. It won't be pretty and you'll probably cause more damage, but that's what you would need to do.

Not that I'm keeping count, but this is now a 5 page thread on how to solder. Please bear in mind this is supposed to be a TX product support site.

Ok thanks for all your replies and solder lessons ;)

I really do appreciate all the free help that none of you would have to give but still gave, so yes I know I am maybe annoying, sorry for that. Still appreciated all.

Ill report back once again I'm in possession of a 10k resistor and soldered it to it.
