Tried to install my modchip today (Well.. one for a friend)

First modchip install... not TOO good with soldering, but not very bad.

I tried booting it up with no HD or DVD drive first (Read somewhere that with it working, it should boot into the bios or the normal dash at least) I got a on/off, then FRAG.

I took it apart... looked at all the solders, and none looked bad... so I put it back in... and then there was no frag, but an error 8(no HDD found) So I thought... ok, must need to put them in. I put in everything... and then I got a Frag again. I thought... ok, weird. So I moved the ide cable around a bit.. shifting the motherboard (only got 1 screw in.. .to test it) and redid it... and it booted, but I got a Error code 7 (HDD time out) I unplugged the chip, tried booting it up...and I get the HDD time out error still.

I made sure not to over heat my board... onlything I ever even touched it for, was for the red green wire, and for the DOA.

It's a version 1.6 Xbox. Installed the LPC rebuild and everything. (Soldered before I installed the rebuild.. soldered the D0 point before to :( Havent taken the rebuild off... to look at the solder again, make sure theres no excess solder on the board under it)

I was wondering what the problem could be? I know it'd FRAG without the modchip, if there was solder on the board... however, I dont think it'd flash error code 7... with or without it? Any help?

*Edit* Err... *Smacks the sh*t out of himself for being a dumbass* had the IDE cable in wrong. Ok.. boots up fine without the modchip. now to try with it booted in... wiill edit in a second.

Ok.. cant edit no more :(

Anyways... when the modchip is in... it doesnt frag. However, it boots to the original MS Dashboard. I plugged in the switch... and the switch doesnt have any lights or power to it.

Could this be from a bad solder job? I dont have a volt meter... so I cant check all the pins. Theres a blue LED on the c hip itself which is turned on tho

[Edit #2] Ok... I just seen that one of the leds isnt on, n im looking up faqs. so I guess 1 of the volts isnt getting power... will check in a lil after i eat, and let you guys know
