well... I think everyone agrees that the marriage theory is the way that they are banning people, but one question that I have has never been answered. Does getting a new hard drive and EEPROM really fix things because I have a banned 1.6 with an X3 and a new hard drive. I got to thinking... do the xbox's have to go on live before their info is recorded? Couldn't M$ just record the hard drive and eeprom before it leaves the factory? This could very well be what they are doing, I want to know what you guys think before I throw down the money for a new hard drive and xbox eeprom... Thanks

Hmm, that would be really smart of MS, quick delete this post before they get any ideas! They might do that to xbox 2 =/

I don't, or wouldn't we all be banned?

All of us that have upgraded hard drives and then signed up for Live would have been red flagged.

My guess would be no..

This is why I plan to buy a new XBOX so I don't have to worry about this sh*t, even though I have not attempted to go on Live with my Current XBOX.. =^_^=

Everyone talks about "the marraige theory" now but there is more than just EEPROM and HD serial #.

If a flagged GT (ever been banned before) logs onto a Xbox with a large drive you will be banned as MS does more checks than just EEPROM & HD serial.

Therefore if you are banned you need to get a new EEPROM, HD, & GT.
The only way to keep your GT is to log on ONLY with a stock drive (dual drives)

Haven't heard that before about the GT. Thanx for the info!

So, are you saying that eventually we (meaning myself - I have a larger drive) will be banned?

I have been using XBL for a month now and not had any problems.

I'm just saying that if your friend whith a flagged GT brings his account over to play some Xbox Live on a Mem Card and you have a large HD, then you'll get banned.

Then once you are banned you are going to have to get a new GT or a stock drive because flagged GTs do more checks when you sign on live. My flagged GT takes about 20-30 seconds to get onto live because MS is running all the extra checks.

The other solution of course is to buy an Xbox Live only box and keep your flagged GT.

I just do not want people that get banned to go out and spen $10 on a new EEPROM and however much on a new HD, not get a new GT and get banned again.
