LITEON 0225 Marry a new Xbox 360 Slim drive to latest dash

Problem:
Acquired a Xbox 360 slim no drive I had a extra Xbox 360 slims drive around the house so I used the coolrunner and glitched the system and got the drive keys.

With the keys injected I still get the Play DVD error no matter what disk is used original or backup.

Assumption:
I believe you must not only have the drive keys but also the drive specific information such has serial data.

Solution:
Is there a way to married a different drive to a xbox 360, has anyone solved this problem.
I was thinking maybe jtaging and sending the firmware back to 12XXX and updating it hoping it would marry the new drive with the current drive specifics.

Has anyone successfully put different xbox slim in a jtag system and got it to work???

you shouldnt need any other info other than the dummy.bin (key) and ofw or cfw, ive had no problems swapping 2 slim drives between 1 slim console.

edit you dont have dummy.bin just the key from xell?

saying that ive manually put keys from jtag'd consoled into Jungleflasher and flashed with cfw with no problems, sure your not using the cpu key?

Jungleflasher actually doesn't allow you to inject a dvd key

you can do this but it only works on the 9504/0272 drives.

and since you dont have the original drive there is no way to figure out the serial data to rebuild a dummy.bin so I guess your SOL for now

Yep just the xell key no dummy.bin... I have manually done keys many times but for some reason this slim will not work with the dvd key. It is strange for sure.

I can use it iso2god and all but rather have the drive working as well. yep can't rebuild the dummy data and it is 272 according to the console info. I think the serial date is needed as well as the key in order for the drive to work in the board.

yep just hunting around the problem with the lizardfix is you need to have the correct drive to rebuild the dummy.bin something I do not have.

I am thinking it has something to do with the drive change done by the firmware updates from 12xxxx to the 13xxxx when it changed the drive specifics from 9504 to 272

If you JTAG it you should be able to put any drive in there. Might be a better option.

I thought the same thing had me pulling out the little hair I have left out. Will try again today when I leave work. I have never had this problem before but then again this is the first slim I have worked with with no drive. Fats do not have this problem. Maybe I was just tired and missed something.

it will never play games , key isnt enough for slims
you can rebuild 0272/9504 firmware with serial fixer, but above that you are screwed, as the fw is hash checked, one incorrect bit and play dvd message

Its glitched using coolrunner I can play any game from the HD in it. Just would be nice to just install a game using the slim instead needing to use iso2god and ftp the game to the drive that take toooo long

Just wanted to update everyone so this issue has the correct closer.

FYIW if you do not have correct drive information meaning serial number and all the info you are SOL even if you have the correct keys a Xbox 360 slim will no longer work because unlike the FAT 360 you MUST have the correct hashes just having the correct keys will not work, the drive will never play in a unmodified Xbox 360 system any longer.

There is still hope it will function using Dashlaunch 2.26.
