As far as i know G: is the most partitions you can have. each partition can hold up to 137GB so theoreticly you could have 8Gigs for the stock HDD space + 137 in F: + 137 in G:. Hope that helps.

P.S. Nice worthless post austinboy

Your post is worthless...because your theory of 137gb per partition is incorrect. the X3 is 48bit LBA capable...I have my entire 250gb drive on F: (once C:, E:, and X: through Z: are figured)...

The theoretical limit for 48bit LBA is a little over 2 terabytes...from limited research though I've read that in an xbox people won't get what's left of a 300gb drive onto F: alone

"each partition can hold up to 137GB"

Im sure i saw people running 200Gb HD's, im guessing this is only possible when split into on partition of 137Gb and another of 63Gb?

Im looking to upgrade and dont wanna waste cash if the box is gonna limit the size.

Thanks for the help.

The windows 2000 kernal can only support 137 gb per partion. But some hackers  have patched it about a year ago so you can now have 2 Terrabytes

I have a 120 gig, and that is plenty of space. I have 48 movies, all of my games(13), tons of music, and other random sheit. I don't know why you would have 250 gigs of space, that is insane.

thats a lot of space... I suppose you could probably have 2 copies of every xbox game saved on there and also do emulators and movies too, eh? lol
I just got it all set up yesterday... So i really don't have much in it.
I used to have a v1 xbox modded w/xecuter 2.2pro and a 160GB HD but I sold it about 8 months ago... I had that baby filled with games to the brim... emulators and roms took about 15GB. I plan on doing the same with this one. 2 copies of every xbox game though.... I think that would take up close to a terabyte or posibly more. There are more games than ya think.

More the merrier... Why not? The 300GB was only $210 on newegg.com and I got the Xbox/mod for free... kinda, I traded my mountain bike on gametz.com for the xbox and $110. Payed for the mod and all I had to buy was the HD. Otherwise, if I had to pay for it all out of pocket, it would have much smaller HD.

I am running a X3 in my box using a Seagate 400GB drive. From what I have read the bios will support MUCH LARGER drives than this. As of right now the 400GB is the largest drive available and it works just fine.

Sweet :D

Might I ask how much that baby cost you? The 400GB HD?

Does it run pretty hot? I haven't added anything to mine yet as far as helping with the cooling, it's running at like 147 Fahrenheit. Probably not good, I need to get some better air flow in that baby.

What program is best for backing up games w/0800 drive?

I got a samsung ms28 and flashed it with the 0800 firmware so I can backup my games, and I'm wondering what is the best program to use for the ripping/creating iso process!
Thanks!
