i got a maxtor 60gig lockable hdd on 4/20 :)D ) and got my entire c and e drives backed up on my pc then i followed the instuctions on an xbox-scene tutorial to make evoX format my drive. it didnt do anything. i double checked that i had everything correct. i did. so instead of using evoX i used my X3. now the drive is formatted and if i check the partition info while in the x3 (3029) it says there are 57.sum odd gigs free in the f drive. hoorah i got a new hard drive right? nope. xbmc and xcommander wont recognize that there is free space on the f drive so i cant save anything to it. i havent tried it but i assume i could ftp something onto it. so basically what im asking here is "did I do anything wrong? How can i fix it? am i completely incompetent?" if you have the answers i seek i would greatly appreciate any replys and i will give some rep if you post.

What option did you select under X3CL to format the drives? Have you tried to run it again? Have you tried to FTP to your XBox and copy from there?

I went into X3CL and went to ... i think it was harddisk info im not positive (im at work now so i cant check sry) and it came up with 2 options the second one down was "new hard drive upgrade" or something very similar i went there and told it to prepare and format drive and thas how i got to where i am now. if this isnt enough help ill post more accuratly when i get home. i have not tried ftp to the f drive but i have ftp to c and e and they work fine. the box boots games and plays just like my old hdd but i dont have 57 gigs that i paid for. ill post again later with better specs. if you have any ideas post ill see it at around 230 central.
