I have a ASUS 1612 BK burner, want to backup a GOW.
I have tried to use Memorex DVD+R DL disks (25 in a spindle), 12/12 coasters. Memorex sent me replacement, but still same thing. I tried a Verbatim, worked fien for me. Is my Asus burner not compatible with the Memorex disk (highly suspicious it is Ritek disk)? What brand of burner can burn Memorex?

Thanks

If Verbatim work for you, why don't you just carry on using Verbatims?. I know LG burners are very good for other types of media, and my friend uses ri-tek with his LG and they all work fine.

I don't have an LG burner i have the Pioneer 111d and use Verbatims. Just find the latest LG burner, I am sure someone on here will be able to provide you with the exact model number.

For what it's worth, I've had nothing but bad luck with any Memorex media from CD-R to DVD+R. I've never tried their DL because after so many CRC errors and corrupt files on CD-R and DVD+R I refuse to buy from them anymore no matter how cheap they are.

That being said, they seem to work fine for other members here so who knows, maybe it just comes down to the PC and burner you're using.

I agree with bigd23. It probably is your burner. I've got MADDOG NEC and MADDOG Toshiba DVD burners. Both have firmware for bitsetting to DVD-ROM and have burned Verbatim and Memorex DL DVD media with success.

Memorex is very good quality.. works very well in my pioneer111d. just bought some printable Ridisc DVD DL, but omg they suck badly... these disc are randomly creating errors, sometimes they work at begin burning procedure and other time same disc is getting burned properly, but then they have trouble being played in my 360. dirty disc error <_<

I think everybody can say .. Verbatim works - so just use that.

I stopped taking chances a while ago, Verbatim is pretty much a guarantee.

I couldn't agree more with Textbook there, if it works stick with the same set up, I would rather pay a few pounds, or Dollars for those over the pond, more for peace of mind that they will work. If it aint broke, dont fix it!!!!

Just bought a new 112D and have burned Verbatim and Memorex media with no coasters. Although on my old lite-on 832 I ended up with 2 Verbatim coasters before I bought the pioneer.

So it could be the Burner + Media just doesnt work well together, also I've read the 360 drive has something to do with it as well.

btw, I have a ms28 samsung drive with 5.2c, the memorex are working well at 12x.
