Hi I was trying to RGH My jasper ive completed all steps up to installing but i managed to knock the little resistor? or whatever that is circled in red and just wondering can i simply try to solder back on or just bridge the gap as its very hard soldering things so small i am useless i have soldered that point before on another xbox fine but when i go to do my own i fail always the way

Sounds like you might have messed up the pad for it. Allot of people say that the iron doesn't matter so much but when I got into fine electronic work my cheap radio shack iron just didn't work so well. Then I spent the money on a midrange station and haven't had any problems since. But I will say some of that has to do with skill.

Ok my day just got better feel free to laugh i scrapped the trace to get a bit more copper showing blew away the dust off the scrapping and with it the little fuse :O i have a rrod xbox a falcon which may have the same resistor so ill rob that it got rrod while i was reading nand as it was a bit dodgy and turned itself on whenever i plugged the power cable in so i guess i should stop trying to repair my own xboxs ey? haha luckily they are available so cheap nowadays

Its a capacitor and your system may not need it. You could try bridging the two points first and see what happens before attempting to solder another one on. ;)

if you pulled / knock it off i really dont think your pads will still be there you may see light little spots where the pads where before

well ill try first with the pads bridged and one is there the other isnt no more am using the trace tio solder too but its soo thin it can get enough grip and so the solder pulls away ill continue and if the xbox goes on fire i may need to replace the capacitor

Solder paste is better when soldering such delicate stuff. Just a friendly tip:D
