FTP the files to the C: on your xbox.

Then in X3CL set the dashboard boot priority to show the filename of your new dashboard. Also disable the option to auto boot X3CL

then when you reset your xbox you should be in your new dashboard.

Thanks for the help I am trying to put on the avalaunch. I am running the x3 chip with 3294 bios. Which version of avalaunch would you recommend? Also I am not sure exactly what files to place into C: drive? Currently the xbox has the factory hard drive in it with like 4.7 gb free on E: of the xbox. I would like to be able to back up a game to the hard drive of the xbox and then use flashfxp to save it onto the hard drive of my pc as an iso backup. Again thanks for helping me out.

For avalaunch copy the 2 files:

Avalaunch.xbe
Avalaunch.xml

The version doesn't really matter. The latest version i suppose is the best (although it does have a skanky anime girl that you'll have to download a skin to cover up.)

Before you do all this, just out of curiosity what brand of hdd is it? if it's a seagate you can get an extra 2Gb out of it by formatting it. if it's a WD you can't.

Once you get your dashboard running, download DVD2Xbox from Xbins and use that to back up your games to the hdd.

I put the .xml into C drive and the .xbe for avalaunch when it comes up it has the girl in the christmas santa suit. It then says F drive only 0mb free on F. I guess that I need to change something but I don't know what to change? I also tried to access the menu on avalaunch but it won't do anything? Thanks for the help

I got F: disabled usning avalaunch options. I can't get the avalaunch to play a game? If I click on xbox media center, xbox games, applications, emulators, etc nothing happens. Any ideas?

I've read how if you mess up both your banks you can load the original cromwell bios on an Xecuter 3 by holding down both power and eject buttons, but is ther a way you do that stuff to an Xecuter 2.6 CE?

For a 2.6 you need an external programmer if both banks are screwed.

OK. I have 3294 loaded on my X3 and I have a 1.6 XBOX. One time I was able to get into the X3 tools (not the flash tool but hte Format/FTP/etc... tools), sorry I don't know the correct nme for that tools screen. Anyway I have a Maxtor 200G drive and I can flash good and bad Bios into either bank 1 or 2 all day long. I was able to make a boot disk and load a dashboard up and FTP the bios to the HD C:\Bios as well. So I know I am really close.

Here's the problem. When I boot from either bank 1 or 2 with 3294 it hangs at "rox your xbox" screen. If I pwr/ejct boot I can boot the dashboard but when it goes past the dshbrd it freezes. And other than the very first time I have never seen the X3 tools menues again. I have tried the triggers durring boot as well as the white button durring boot. I even brought it to a friend who did the 1.0-1.5 non chipped xboxes. We messed with it for about 5 hours.

Any idea why it hangs up? I must be soo close!!! I can lmost taste it!!

Could be different but a few other people have locked themselves out by setting a password in X3CL. If you did that read the other posts today about flashing an older bios.

No, It's a bug in the bios i believe.

OK well I loaded X3 1943 v1.6 GOLD.bin and it's asking my for a pswd. What is the pswd? I tried x3, X3, xbox, and XBOX.

anyone have any help? I have tried whtie button as well as entering x3 and xbox passwords. Nothing seems to work. It's like the bios is not completely working. It allows me to enter a password but keeps telling me it's the wrong one. Anyone know how to reset it to factory default?

im having the same problem with x3 config live not loading i put a password in and now i cant get into the config live screen my xbox keeps freezing at the big green x and x3 rox my box i remember my password i put in. do you think flashing to an older bios will definitley help. i dont want to messup any more of the bios. by the way the password is what you put in on the x3 config live screen password box. i dont think it has anything to do with the words xbox or x3 unless you used these words as passwords

Flash with a non X3 bios (evox, X2 etc.). Boot up and transfere X3_erase to your HD. Then run the .xbe

Yes flashing with an old bios will work. Then disable the password and reflash with the current bios.
