So I messed up the QSB's, now im resorting to soldering the wires directly to the board with the diodes attatched and using the pin headers. Cant understand why my solder would not stick to the mobo though. I used a brand new soldering iron tip, made sure to tin the soldering iron, cleaned the points with rubbing alcohol and applied flux to the points and the QSB's, but some points the solder was sticking to the iron instead and wouldnt stick to the mobo. I do have a little experience in soldering and still cannot understand why this happened. I've removed the QSB's now and by the looks of them they are no good for anything so they have gone in the bin. I've managed to clean up the mobo and it all looks ok no damaged tracks or anything. I have ordered some desolder braid to remove any excess solder left on the points and and also to fit the pin headers.
Is there any tips that anybody could give me in order to assure that my solder will stick to the mobo when i try to solder the wires to it?
Also do I have to solder in the pin headers or can I get away with just slotting them in/ hold them in place when reading/writing the nand?
